Ivanhoe Library

Australia's libraries are a key part to every community & are visited approximately 111 million times a year with 10 million library members inclusive. Over 183 million items are borrowed in a year and around 10 million enquiries are made. Libraries are great places for learning & they provide social benefits as well so make sure you find out what you can get involved with at your local library.

Getting Involved

One of the institutions we often take for granted is our local library. As they're key a part of each community, they usually need volunteer help in one form or another. When it comes to libraries in your local area, why not call them directly to see if they need volunteers?

Many libraries need volunteers to deliver books to seniors and housebound people. Some need storytellers and others need organisers for local book clubs. Whatever it is that they need, get in touch with your local library to see how you can help. They're great community institutions that need our ongoing support.
