Australian Citizens Radio Emergency Monitors Inc.

Serving the community since 1975, ACREM provides volunteer monitoring of the CB band government allocated emergency channels, responding to calls for emergency assistance from the community and relaying to the relevant emergency services, as well as emergency and safety communications, and event first aid and emergency medical services.

Getting Involved

The organisation seeks volunteers interested in providing a monitoring service on the CB emergency channels, emergency and safety communications for their community and community events, and/or first aid/EMS services for local events. Ideally monitors should have their own CB equipment for emergency monitoring, however this should not be a barrier to joining. Prior experience with radiocommunications is not necessary as all monitors are trained in monitoring, responding to emergency calls, voice procedures and other aspects of radiocommunications. Volunteers with first aid qualifications may assist our Emergency Medical Service unit with EMS/first aid at various community events. Those not interested in monitoring may join as an EMS Unit member only or an Associate Member.
