Birdwood Gully Bushcare Group
Every month more than 50 groups of bushcare, including the Birdwood Gully Bushcare Group, spend a few hours in Springwood, helping to reverse the damage done to the environment by invasive weeds and stormwater runoff. They use the principles of bush regeneration to guide their work and improve the local area.
Getting Involved
Volunteers, of all ages and backgrounds, get involved and troop out to their local patch of bushland in Springwood. They spend a few hours together helping to reverse the damage done to the environment by invasive weeds and stormwater runoff.
They assess the existing vegetation, plan carefully, remove weeds, encourage the bush to expand, consolidate the progress madeand then move into new areas.
The Birdwood Gully Bushcare Group focuses on bush regeneration in Birdwood Gully Park and Tidswell Reserve. The group meets on the third Saturday of each month from 9am to 12pm.
