Merri Community Health

Hello! Welcome to Merri Community Health Disability Services. We offer unique and engaging recreation opportunities, respite and support to children as well as younger and older adults living with disabilities. We provide our services within the local catchment area of Hume and Moreland

Getting Involved

We are currently seeking volunteers for our Host Program.

The Host Program is where Individual Volunteers (Host Carer) are trained and matched to a child or young adult. The volunteer then provides regular and planned respite (care). This is a flexible and fun way of:
•Gaining experience in disability care;
•Providing a young person with new and fun opportunities for making friends and being part of the community;
•Providing families with opportunities for rest and quality time with other family members;
•Giving back to the community;
•Making a new friend;

Planned respite can be anything from a few hours to a full weekend. We are seeking volunteers passionate about providing support and friendly interaction to our clients; it is amazing what a smile and chat can do.
