Peter Couche Foundation

The Peter Couche Foundation supports the research of the Robinson Institute's 'Stem Cell for Stroke' research program at the University of Adelaide. This innovative research is looking at whether stem cells from the human tooth (Dental Pulp Stem Cells) have the ability to repair and regenerate damage to the brain caused by stroke. Results to date are promising.

Getting Involved

The Peter Couche Foundation is currently running a fundraising campaign: 'Don't Speak, silence for stroke'.

Participants register at www.dontspeak.org.au and are sponsored to not speak for one hour on Friday 7 June.

The hour of silence can occur at the place of your choosing: at work, school, home...anywhere.

Every 10 minutes someone in Australia has a stroke. While some people recover, most are left with a disability and this sometimes includes the loss of speech.

Don't Speak aims to raise awareness and funds to support the vital stem cell for stroke research looking at repairing and regenerating damage to the brain caused by stroke.
