Youth Mentor for 18 y.o. Male with Disability (Autism)

YMentoring is a community based support program for young people, operated by YMCA Perth. We match volunteers with young people to form one-to-one relationships that take place for 2-3 hours per week. Volunteers spend time with young people in the community over a 12 month period.

Getting Involved

We are seeking a volunteer mentor to spend some time with Daniel, a bright and active 18 year-old living in the far Northern suburbs. Daniel has limited access to male role-models and has high-functioning Autism. Daniel is currently learning how to drive and has a strong passion for animals. Daniel would benefit from getting out of the house more and engaging with his community; a mentor at this crucial stage of his life will help him express some independence while developing social and life skills.

After submitting an application form, all volunteers undergo a thorough screening process before being matched to a young person.
