SES Northern Regional Office

The TAS State Emergency Service (SES) is an emergency and rescue service dedicated to assisting the community in storms, floods and tsunamis. The SES in Tasmania provides a response capability for emergency events through its volunteers. The responses may be 'stand alone' or in support of other agencies such as Tasmania Police or Tasmania Fire Service.

Getting Involved

SES volunteers make themselves available for call out to emergencies when required, depending on their individual skills. Volunteers receive comprehensive training to enable them to perform the tasks required. This training is competency based and recognised nationally. The benefits of becoming a SES volunteer are immense. Volunteers have many opportunities to develop new, nationally recognised skills, from new friendships, accept high levels of responsibility and enjoy the team spirit of a tightly knit unit.
