Watch the video above to see how this site can help your organisation.

Do Something Near You is a national website inviting individuals to get involved with community groups and initiatives in their local area.

If you're an organisation seeking community and volunteer involvement, then we can help. Thanks to support from ALDI, you can list yourself for free on Do Something Near You and let people know about the exciting opportunities available with your organisation.

With thousands of organisations and branches already listed, you'll be joining some of Australia's most recognised not-for-profits and charities on Do Something Near You. You'll also be helping to build Australia's newest community volunteering home.

So How Do I Register?

Registration is simple and free. By clicking on the "Register Now" button below and following the prompts, you'll receive your own account with a login and password. Once your registration is approved, you can begin listing the programs, services and opportunities that your organisation offers. This will appear as a public profile, which users can use to get in touch with you.

You can also let people know about your website, promote your social media profiles and update your information and details whenever you need.

So let's get started. Register now!

My organisation already seems to exist on Do Something Near You. What do I do?

Easy - there are two options available. If you represent the organisation, we'd love for you to take ownership of the listing and update your details as necessary. All you need to do is click on the "Claim or Edit this Listing" button on the organisations page and follow the prompts.

If you don't want to claim ownership of an organisations listing, but have noticed that something needs updating, you can suggest a change, which will be approved by our administrator. Again, simply click on the "Claim or Edit this Listing" button and follow the prompts to update the information.

My screen is loading slowly or I can't see all the information. Am I doing something wrong?

Updating your browser should solve most problems relating to website loading. Whether you're using Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer, you can update your browser for free and without fuss from the browsers website.

If you update your browser and still find you"re having problems, send us an email outlining what's happening and we'll get back to you asap.

How do I change my password and settings?

You can change your password from the Do Something Near You homepage. Simply login, and click on the orange "My Profile" button on the bottom left hand corner of the homepage. You're also able to update your organisation name and other login details from this page.

Can I add my logo or images to my listing?

Unfortunately at the moment we aren't able to offer a facility for each organisation to list their logo or image. Hold tight though - Do Something Near You is a new and evolving site and we're always looking to build upon what we have.

How do we make sure people can find us on the site?

The search bar on Do Something Near You means that users can easily find what they're looking for. However, there is one way to make sure you're as visible as possible to our search engine. Make sure that key words associated with your organisation - meaning those which people might use to search for you - are featured in the Summary of Organisation (Mission) field. If you are a community land restoration group, for example, it might be useful to make sure that words such as 'tree', 'regeneration' and 'planting' are featured in your mission box. This way people are more likely to find you when they search by those key words. It's a simple and easy way to make sure you're visible on the site.

My organisation has lots of branches. Can I list them all under my profile?

Absolutely you can list as many of them as you like under the same account and manage them from your own dashboard. There are two ways to list multiple branches. You can choose to list these manually by adding each as a new organisation under your profile. Or if you have over 10 branches and need a hand getting them up on the site, just send us an email and we can help you out with a bulk upload.

Can I promote my organisations events on Do Something Near You?

You sure can but there are a couple of things it's useful to know. Do Something! runs the National Calendar, a guide to community events around the country. If your community event is a large statewide or nation-wide event, you can list it on the National Calendar. However, if your event is celebrated in just one place and you're looking for volunteers, you can list it on Do Something Near You.

To do this, just list your event in the same way you would list an organisation by clicking "Add an Organisation" from the Organisations tab on your dashboard. This means your event will have it's own profile, making sure users know that you're keen for volunteers to be involved. Just make sure to take the event's profile down once it's happened.
